The Problems and challenges faced by companies with fresh MBAs:

India produces about 5-6 lacs MBAs every year from Govt. and private institutes. According to recent survey, not even 20% of them are actually ready for employment in terms skills and expectations.

Employers find that fresh MBA graduates often struggle with a gap between academic theory and real-world work. Common issues include lacking practical skills, having unrealistic expectations about roles and pay, and finding it hard to manage teams with more experience colleagues.

Key issues for MBA freshers:

  • Theory vs Reality: Business schools teach concepts, but the real world requires execution. Graduates often do not know how to apply tools like Profit and Loss (P&L) statements or software in actual workplace settings.
  • Unreal Expectations: Many graduates expect high salaries and senior title right away. In reality, entry-level MBA jobs often pay mass less than students hope for, leading to frustration.
  • Soft skills shortfalls: The MBA requires engagement in team work, but graduates often show a “lone wolf” mindset. They also sometimes lack the diplomacy needed to manage older, more experience staff.
  • Market saturation: Because many people have MBAs these days, a degree does not guarantee a job. Graduates must compete hard for entry- level roles.
